Rawr

What's the most masculine thing a dude could draw? Monster trucks? Beer? MMA Fighter guys? Half-naked big-chested valkyries riding a dragon fighting off fire-breathing tigers? Nope. None of those. Kitties. Kitties is where it's at.

So, here's an initial sketch/could be the final/whatever for a logo for a cat toy company thing. I did up a few things, but this was the only one I wasn't embarrassed about. The others were....well....let's just say "Cat Fancy" wouldn't be knocking on my door anytime soon. I haven't heard back as to whether or not said client is pleased with this or not, but whatev's.

I think I've used "whatev's" one too many times in my typing as of late. I'm going to have to stop. I'm certainly not of age to be talking in such a way. Unless I start trying to chat up 13 year olds. And that's not something I'm looking to do. Although...I do find PedoBear hilarious. I'm not entirely sure why either. Something about his happy face makes me giggle. I highly encourage looking him up.

UPDATE (as I was typing) Client likes them cats, but it wasn't what they were thinking. And it's on hold till later. That should give me enough time to recharge my testosterone. Just in time for the Nerd-Fest in Winnipeg. Oh yeah...if the 2 readers of this (I'm not even sure they're around anymore either) are in the Winnipeg area October 31st and November 1st, come on down to the Central Canada Comic Con. I'll be there with Nerd-Fest partner Aaron. It'll be a...well...it'll be a time. Adam West'll be there. That's rad, right? And the original Batmobile. Although, it is Winnipeg...

Hockey Playin' Dudley

Well, here's a thing I did for a friend's law-firm hockey team. Little do they know that their logo is my parent's dog Dudley. You can tell, because he only has the one tooth at the bottom. Like Dudley. Stubborn guy doesn't brush his teeth. Nor did he ever use them, so they never got cleaned.

And yeah I haven't posted in a million years. Whatever. I haven't drawn much in a million years, so there.

Germy the Bear: Volume 1

So, Shawn and I have published the first volume of The Adventures of Germy the Bear. You want one? By all means, buy one. It'll be radical, I promise. It's the new rage. Everybody's doing it.

We're chargin' a super reasonable price of $5.00 a book. And that's Canadian funds even! Plus the shipping of course... I'm sure I can slip in the mail. Actually, I've just weighed the thing and it's a dollar (really it's $0.98, but what's the extra 2 cents? Really?) for shipping/mailing to Canadian addresses. And a bit more for places elsewhere of course. ($1.18 for US and $2.36 for International and if you are buying one internationally...awesome.)

So let me know if you wanna copy and we'll be more than glad (and by "more" I mean "extra-extra more") to send you one. Send me an email and we'll sort it all out! Or, actually send it to "Germy" so I can keep track better than I would otherwise... germy.the.bear (at) gmail.com

Wicked.

Cornucopia o' Animals

So, here's an image I did up for that same "certain someone" that got the dancin' Red Panda from before. Will I still be all secretive? Will I let anyone in on who it is? Does anyone even really care? Does these animals even mean anything? MYSTERIES ABOUND!

Sick Day Drawin'

Well, I'm sick today. Maybe tomorrow too. Who knows? Fate probably. Or a doctor. Either way, I did some drawin' today. With a pen even. I had doodled these bad boys up during one of our little art-kid meetings, but I didn't complete them until today. Now that I had all sorts of time...

I hadn't done up any wrasslers for a while so I figured I do up a few. Yup. That's it.

Dirty Copier

So, here's this year's Christmas card for work here. Didn't draw it up in my own style. Why? 'Cause it's way quicker to "Peanut" it up. WAY quicker. Plus it's nice when I don't have to use my brain for things like concept. I'll attach all the other ones I've done as well. Good lord, there's more than I thought there should be.

Dance Dance Dance

So, here's a little digital drawrin' that I did up for someone. Yup. I'd go into detail but...well, I just don't wanna go into detail right now. That's fair right? Frankly it's none of your business really. Quit asking. Jesus.

It's a Red Panda doing a dance. A very particular dance even. Well, a particular dance that ended up not being correct at all. Close enough though.

Toothpaste

So, I found that my dad has been using this brand of toothpaste here. Now, I don't know anything about package design, or racism, but there's something that seems a little wrong with this one. Like I've got this uncontrollable urge to call people "Boss" and "Mammy".

Coconut Werewolf

So, for our annual Pumpkin Carving Party, I didn't want/could find a pumpkin so I went a different route. See, the digging out pumpkin innards is all gross and usually leaves my forearms all itchy. So I thought of the next best thing. Coconut Werewolf. My sister helped with the ears and a few other things, so I can't take all the credit. Although this is the internet so I could say whatever I want. I'm a doctor, with a flashy sports car.

Digital Times??

So, here's an image that I've done recently, "showcasing" this new style I've been dabbling in. Whether I continue with this style and develop that more, or stick with the old timey pen and ink that I usually do is up in the air. Although I'm pretty sure the only people that even look at this, have all seen this before. So this doesn't really matter at all. Surprises for no one.

More "New" Drawings...

Well, I was contacted a few months ago to do a series of Teach-Kids-How-To-Be-Safe type books and here's what I've done for them. The project fell through, which with my rudimentary math skills equals lame, but I've got some semi-professional pieces to "showcase". I'm also putting down some of the sketches and incomplete ones that were being worked on before getting dumped. Well, apparently it was them and not me. But I've heard that before...

Actual Drawings to Post

Well, here's a couple quick little drawrings I did up for a certain someone. I had planned to do a whole list of these bad boys, things aren't looking too promising on that front, now that things have, well, yeah. I might do a bunch more perhaps, at the insistence of Karen and Jackie. Perhaps I should. Although it's kinda hard to be corny when there's no reason too. Oh *sniff*. Granted, I'd have to redo that Frankenstein one for sure. Yuck. Screw you pencil crayons. I forgot why I hated you in the first place.

Random Drawrin's #6 - Old School y'all

So, at my parents place the other night looking for my missing degree, for a super idea, we stumbled across some of my old drawings from when I was younger. And when I mean younger, I mean way younger. This "hippo" drawing is dated January 1981, which would have made me 1.5 years old. I was a fricken genius as a kid. A boy genius no less. Now? More of a Man regular. And even the man classification is under some scrutiney. I really haven't progressed much since...
This bad boy is from when I was still pretty young. So, like 4? Art school, not Math school. Either way, to be that young and know my anatomy? Well...sort of. I would post the nudie finger puppets that were in the same "series" as this one, but I didn't scan those....although I probably should...

Random Drawrin's #5 - Requests

Sooooo, quite a while ago, talking with Travis, he says "You should totally draw the Junk Yard Dog". So....it took me like a million years to get to it, but here he is. AND, at the latest little illustrator kids meeting we had a few days back he asks, "You should totally draw Koko B. Ware". So I figured seeing as how I'm on a fufilling mood, he's done too. THUMP!!!!!!

Random Drawin's #4 - Crabalicious

So at the family dinner yesterday there was some talk about my family taking a trip to BC and my dad getting sick because he ate too many crabs. Which is pretty much par for the course. Dad loves himself some seafood. And, what with marrying a white lady from the praries, he doesn't get it all that often. Anyways, I've got these little drawings of crabs and here they are. Can't remember what the fiddler crab was for, but I sure do remember what the hermit crab one was. WINK.

Random Drawrin' #3

Well, just a certain drawing I did for a certain someone. Continuing the drawings with things riding other things...you see. Shizzam.

Random Drawing #2 AKA: Procrastination

So....here's a drawin' I did for one of my t-shirts there. I've made just the one and it's owner is the most famous of the Colin's Shirts owners. Although Jackie's got one, and she's pretty rad. It's based on a bit from his stand-up routine. Yyyup. That pretty much covers that.
There's a few things I could be doing right now, but I just can't seem to get to them at all. If procrastination was a super-power, I'd be the superist.
